Fresh Perspective: 2023 Design Predictions from Our Product Team
There’s something about a new year that makes us crave change. And when it comes to interiors, the opportunities are endless. From updating lighting to swapping out hardware, we love experimenting with our space to find the perfect piece that makes a house truly feel like home.
To kick off the year of styling potential ahead, we asked our Schoolhouse Product Team to share their design predictions for 2023. Here’s how to choose among this year’s trends for a timeless look that is both stylish and enduring.
1. Saturated Colors
The past few years have been marked with muted hues. This season, we’re leaning into bolder, moodier colors – refreshing Schoolhouse favorites with vivid yellows, earthy greens, and playful reds.
Design Tip: Styling your space with a bright quilt or throw pillow is a great way to add color to your space without overcommitting.
2. Bold Patterns
In line with having more fun with our spaces, 2023 will be full of bold elements sprinkled throughout our homes. Natural materials and textures will work alongside pieces that pop — keeping the overall feeling of serene while simultaneously adding more character and life into the picture.
Design Tip: Experiment with a fun, patterned rug for an instant interior impact or if you’re feeling creatively inclined, create your own gallery wall with an array of art prints.
3. Fun-Forward Pairings
Eclectic pattern and style pairings seem to continue to be on the rise. I think people are increasingly comfortable pairing old and new pieces together for truly unique spaces.
I also anticipate an abundance of fun-filled spaces for 2023 — gallery walls full of playful pictures and objects. I look forward to more pattern play, a mix beats match mindset, and not taking everything so seriously.
Design Tip: Try layering plaids with stripes in an array of bold colorways for added dimension in your living room or bedroom.
