How-To: 5 Tips To Get Your Home Ready For Spring

Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation, and what better way to celebrate the season than by getting your home ready for it? As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, it's time to shed the old and bring in the new.

That said, preparing your home for a new season doesn't have to be a daunting task. With a little effort and some simple swaps, you can easily create a space that feels fresh, clean, and ready to embrace all that spring has to offer.

Below, we are share a few of our favorite, simple tips to get your home ready for the season ahead.

1. Tidy Up

Spring cleaning is a time-honored tradition, and for good reason. After a long winter, your home is likely to have accumulated a lot of clutter and dust. A great way to welcome the new season is to begin going through each room in your home and clearing out anything that you no longer need or use.

Once you've decluttered, it's time to clean. Give your home a deep clean, including floors, windows, and surfaces.

Tip: If it feels overwhelming to clean every room in your home all at once, we recommend breaking it up and focusing on one room per day until you've finished. This should help it to feel more manageable, and allow you to really focus on those often missed areas in each room!

2. Add Fresh Flowers

Spring is the perfect time to bring some color and life into your home. One of our favorite ways to do this is by picking up some fresh flowers from the local florist or farmer's market and displaying them in vases throughout our home. Not only will fresh blooms brighten up your space, but they'll also fill your home with a lovely, fresh scent perfect for welcoming spring.

Tip: We love to place small vases of flowers in often unexpected places, such as on a bedside table, on top of the fridge, or in the bathroom. We recommend buying a single bouquet from a grocery store and splitting it up across a few smaller vases in your home!

3. Swap Out Bedding

Another way to welcome warmer weather is by swapping out your heavy winter fabrics for lighter ones. Spring is the perfect time to pack away your flannel sheets and wool blankets and replace them with light cotton throws or linen sheet sets. The same can be said for your living room as well. Simply switch out your heavier blankets typically used on the couch or lounge chairs for something lighter, like our Cotton Pinstripe Throw or the Winter + Summer Cotton Coverlet

If you're looking to add natural touch, consider adding some plants or succulents around your home as well.

5. Outdoor Space Spruce Up

Part of what we love most about spring is warmer weather and the chance to start enjoying our outdoor spaces again. To get things ready for the rising temps, clean your patio or deck and add some outdoor furniture and decor so that you have a welcoming space where you can relax and enjoy the long-awaited sunshine.

Tip: Another way to add some personality to your outdoor space is by planting flowers or herbs in pots or garden beds by the front door.
